Wonderful local markets everywhere:
Exploring street markets is an essential part of everybody's holiday at La Rosiere. An atmosphere buzzing with excitement, sumptuous fresh local produce piled to the skies - fruit, vegetables, cheeses, bread, meats, herbs and spices (plus clothing, jewellery, toys and so much more). Huge displays set out like an exhibition at the Louvre or tiny tables where grizzled old ladies sell a few baskets of raspberries or girolles from their gardens. Little hard-written cards in a muddy basket of leeks with the producer's name and address. Laughter and banter. And - best of all - delicious fresh food produced with love and care and with flavours that you thought had disappeared forever!
